- Am I covered for vision services? Vision benefits are also optional and depend on your employer’s selected plan.
-
What’s included in the vision plan?
- One eye exam per calendar year ($15 copay)
- Eyeglass lenses (single, bifocal, trifocal, progressive – all $15 copay)
- Eyeglass frames (covered up to $800 every two calendar years)
- Contact lenses (up to $800 per year instead of glasses)
- Lens enhancements like scratch protection and anti-reflective coatings
- Can I use any eye doctor? Yes. The vision plan uses an open network, so you can visit any licensed vision provider.
- Can I get both glasses and contacts in the same year? No. You can receive either glasses or contacts in a given calendar year—not both.
- How do I access my vision ID card? Your vision plan is an Open Access plan, which means you don’t need an ID card. You can visit any provider you choose and then submit a reimbursement request afterward.
- Can I add dependents to my vision plan later? Like dental, dependents must be added at the time of enrollment or during a qualifying life event.
- How do I submit a claim? You can submit a claim to TrueClaim, Vitable Health’s Third-Party Administrator, either through the TrueClaim portal or via email. You can find more information on the following link: How Do I Submit a Claim for My MEC, MEC Plus, MVP, Dental, or Vision Plan?
